The Music School
Seven disciplines. One student at a time.
Weekly one-to-one lessons for anyone from the age of five upward, with no maximum. Every lesson plan is built around the individual — their age, their goals, how quickly they take things in, and the music they actually want to play.
Piano Performance
Our most-chosen discipline. A complete pianistic education — technique, repertoire, reading, ear and improvisation — tailored to what you actually want to play.

How lessons work
The parts that do not change.
Every student's plan is different. These four things are true for all of them.
One to one
Lessons are individual. The exceptions are Theory, which can be taken in a small group, and Music History, which is taught only in groups.
Once a week
A weekly lesson, at a fixed time slot that is yours. Practice happens between lessons and is where the actual progress is made.
In person, online or both
We teach at Balewadi, online, and in a hybrid arrangement. Online students get the same lesson, not a reduced one.
Built around you
Two students of the same age at the same grade will rarely be working on the same pieces, because they rarely want the same things.
Do I need an instrument at home?
Yes — daily practice is what makes a lesson worth taking. You can start without one for around a month, roughly four lessons, but not longer than that. We will help you choose an instrument if you would like, and we run a full piano consultancy service for anyone making a larger purchase.
Piano consultancyHow much practice does it take?
Ideally every day, for twenty to sixty minutes depending on level. Four to six times a week is acceptable if a student is genuinely busy. What matters is consistency — twenty focused minutes daily beats two hours on a Sunday, every time.
