Taught from Pune. Studied anywhere.
Our online programme takes students wherever they are. The examinations we prepare for are British and internationally administered, which means a student in Dubai, Singapore, London or Toronto can study with us and sit the same qualification at a centre near them.
Why this works
A good online lesson is not a compromise.
We have taught online since well before it was fashionable, and we are direct about what it does and does not do well. A camera positioned over the keyboard shows a teacher more of a student’s hands than sitting beside them does. Recording a lesson so a student can replay a correction is straightforwardly better than relying on memory. Neither is possible in a room.
What online cannot replicate is the physical adjustment — moving a wrist, a shoulder, an elbow. We compensate by being far more explicit about it, and by asking students to film themselves between lessons so we can see what habits are forming.
The result, for a motivated student with a decent instrument and a stable connection, is a lesson that is genuinely equivalent to being in the room.

Who studies with us online
Four kinds of student, usually.
Families abroad
Indian families overseas who want their children taught in a tradition and a manner they recognise, in English, by teachers they can talk to easily.
Students in smaller cities
Much of India has no access to serious western classical instruction at all. Distance should not decide whether a talented child gets taught.
Adults with no spare time
An online lesson costs you the lesson, not the lesson plus an hour of traffic. For working adults that difference is often what makes it possible at all.
Teachers seeking mentorship
Music educators anywhere who want structured pedagogical mentoring — something we have offered since the beginning.
What you can study online
Six disciplines, taught one to one.
Music History & Appreciation is taught only in groups and is not currently part of the online programme.
Certification
The qualification travels with you.
All four boards we prepare students for are British and internationally administered, with examination centres across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, Africa and North America. A student we teach online in one country can sit the examination in another, and the certificate is identical.
MTB is worth singling out for online students: its examinations are recorded and assessed from video, so they can be taken from home at a time of your own choosing.

Practicalities
What you need at your end.
Less than people expect, but the instrument matters.
An instrument
This is the one thing there is no way around. For piano and keyboard students, weighted keys make a real difference to technique — an unweighted keyboard teaches a touch that has to be unlearned later.
Two camera angles, ideally
A laptop showing you, and a phone on a stand showing your hands. Most students set this up in a few minutes, and it lets a teacher see far more than a single view.
Headphones and a stable connection
Headphones prevent the echo that makes online music lessons frustrating. A wired connection is better than wireless if you have the choice.
Timezones, fees & scheduling
Teaching hours available to international students, fees, the currency they are charged in, and how payment is taken from outside India have not yet been confirmed. Rather than publish plausible figures, this section is left open until the real ones are supplied — get in touch and we will answer directly in the meantime.
Tell us where you are, and we will find an hour.
Send us your city and roughly when you are free, and we will come back with the times we can teach you. Trial lessons are by appointment and carry no obligation.
