Why this works
A good online lesson is not a compromise.
A camera over the keyboard shows a teacher more of a student’s hands than sitting beside them, and a recorded lesson lets a student replay every correction.
What online cannot do is the physical adjustment of a wrist or shoulder, so we explain it more carefully and ask students to film themselves between lessons. With a decent instrument and a stable connection, the lesson is as good as being in the room.

What you need at your end. Less than people expect.

An instrument
The one thing there is no way around. Piano and keyboard students need weighted keys, or they learn a touch they must later unlearn.

Two camera angles, ideally
A laptop showing you, and a phone on a stand showing your hands. It takes a few minutes to set up.

Headphones and a stable connection
Headphones stop the echo; a wired connection beats wireless.
