Academy policy.

Fees

Monthly fees are charged throughout the year, inclusive of the holidays listed in the holiday list. The fee structure is designed around a minimum of 44 to 46 classes in a year.

• Fees are charged quarterly — that is, for twelve sessions at a time.
• Parents may choose to pay half-yearly or for the full year instead.
• A non-refundable registration fee of ₹1,000 is payable at the time of admission.
• Books are charged separately and payment for them is due immediately.
• Fees must be renewed by the 20th of the last month of the quarter paid for — four to five sessions in advance.
• A late fee of ₹500 is charged where payment is not made by the due date. Any anticipated delay must be raised with the teacher a week before the payment date.
• Payment is made online, by UPI, bank transfer or credit card link. Details are shared during admission and registration.
• To pause or discontinue for any reason, a month’s notice must be given to the teacher.
• Refunds, where due, are processed by the 15th of the following month.

Attendance & timing

Because lessons are only once a week, timing is kept strictly. A missed lesson is a week lost, and the policy below exists to protect that.

• A delay of more than five minutes must be communicated to the teacher.
• If attending is not possible, the academy should be informed at least a day beforehand.
• 70% of classes missed by the student will be adjusted, subject to teacher and student availability.
• 100% of classes missed due to medical emergencies will be adjusted.
• 100% of classes missed by the teacher are adjusted within the same fee cycle.
• Adjusted classes are carried into the next fee cycle.
• Failure to attend for more than two weeks without informing the academy will result in the student’s name being removed from the register.
• To reserve a time slot during a break, the fees for that period must still be paid. Otherwise readmission depends on slot availability.
• Time slots are non-adjustable; only the management may adjust classes. Slot changes are by request and subject to availability.
• One month’s notice is required to discontinue. Without it, one month’s fees remain payable.
• Breaks are not permitted during May and December.

Practice

These are individual classes, and a substantial amount of work is set between them. Practice is not optional — it is where the progress actually happens.

• Sincere daily practice is expected.
• A minimum of twenty to sixty minutes each day, depending on the student’s level.
• Where a student is genuinely busy, four to six sessions a week is acceptable.

Music examinations

• Students may enter for international music examinations only where the teacher judges the work satisfactory.
• Forms are filed three to four months before every examination session.
• The full examination syllabus is expected to be complete before forms are submitted.
• Examination fees are charged separately, and the amount is confirmed when forms are filed.
• Once a form has been filed, examination fees are not refundable.

If the policy is not followed

Where the academy policy is not followed and fees remain unpaid despite reminders, we will have to take the following steps.

• The student will not be permitted to enter international music examinations.
• The student will not take part in academy activities — masterclasses, concerts or workshops.
• Missed classes will not be adjusted.
• Classes may be discontinued.
